He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Holcombe Dodson and Mamie Ella Nicholson; his wife Mildred Inez Pilgrim; his children, Brian Greg Dodson and Wanda Sue Thomas; his grandsons, Steven Brad Alexander and Jason Robert Alexander; and his siblings, William Oliver Dodson, Joseph Holcombe Dodson Jr., Arthur Vineyard Dodson, Edward Wilburn Dodson, W. C. Dollan Dodson, Willie Lee Dodson, Janie Louise Johnson, Irene Aiken and Mary Elizabeth Crenshaw.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Odell Dodson, Joseph Mark Dodson (Leigh), Ina Linn Alexander (Steve) and Kimberley Joye Maw (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Darrell Cartee (Toni), Camille Cartee (Sandy), Stephanie Staton (Wesley), Kala Dodson, Whitney Dodson (Neal), Jo Leigh Durham (Levi), Dustin Duncan (Tiffany), Kyle Duncan of Kevin Duncan, A. J, Holladay (Cassidy), Marissa Hayes, Ashley Lane (Ben), Katlynne Hayes and Eddie Hayes; his great grandchildren, Alex Cartee, Gracie Brown (Zach), Emily Staton, Anna Staton, Arianna Dodson, Gianna Lomax, Jaylin Greenlee, Carly Webb, Jeremiah Webb, Cade Durham, Adaleigh Durham, Cameron Philbeck and Peyton Duncan; and his close friend Charles Kelly. He is also survived by his family and friends.
