He was predeceased by: his wife Sheila Hilley Compton; and his parents, John Earle Compton, Sr. and Frances Juanita Jones Compton. He is survived by: his children, Leisa Compton Hartman (Stephen Hartman) of Moncks Corner, John Earle Compton, III (Tracy Bowers Compton) of West Columbia and Lawrence O'Neal Compton of West Columbia; his sisters, Sharon Lindsay (Wayne) of New Jersey and Kathy Ramirez (Juan) of Travelers Rest; and his grandchildren, Brandon Compton, Layne Compton, Hayden Compton, Brighton Compton, Melissa Hartman, Kristin Burrill, Stephen Hartman, Jr. and Jesse Bellinger. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
