He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maggie Hill Shuler and William Henry Shuler; his sisters, Maggie Fields (Emmett) of Cameron and Jewel "Judy" Shuler (Bobby Ray) of Elloree; his daughters, Henrietta Idelle Shuler of West Columbia and Dianne Emily Wise (Don) of Orangeburg; his grandson Michael Brandon Wise (Jennifer Lynne); and his great grandchild Walter "Walt" James Wise. He was also cherished by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Broadacres Baptist Church, 2350 Taylor Road, Cayce, SC 29033.
