He was predeceased by: his parents, Bion W Smith and Beverly Parks Smith; and his wife Gertrude Ellen Blanton Smith. He is survived by: his daughters, Vikki Carlson (Derek) and Kim Belcher (Robert); and his siblings, Matthew Smith (Judith), Martin Smith (Cindy), Lucinda Dumaw (John) and Billie Jo Davis. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
