He was predeceased by: his son Richard Bowers Jr.; and his siblings, Jeanne Bowers Wilson, William Floyd Bowers, Bobby Bowers and Ed Bowers.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Brown and Donna West (Dickie) of Catawba; his brother Thomas Andrew Bowers of Rock Hill; and his grandchildren, Ricky Bowers, III, Diamond West, Brandon Bowers and Dylan West. He is also survived by six great, grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Bowers name to Roddey Baptist Church.
