He is survived by: his wife Michelle Ayers; his daughters, Kristin Mitchell, Lora Ann Helms, Taylor Peel and Lauren Burnett; his sister Nellie Brooks; and his grandchildren, Tucker Helms and Lillie Jean Helms.
