She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Jenkins and Ella G. Jenkins; her daughters, Sarah Winn Blanding, Ella Bookhardt Moultrie and Lavenia Glivens; and her granddaughter Denise.
She is survived by: her siblings, Julius Glivens Jr., David Glivens, Tommy Glivens, George Glivens, Janie Stroman and Victoria Curtis; her daughter Carolyn Berry; her husband Joseph Bookhardt; her daughters, Jometa Gordon (Earl) and Vivian Johnson (Willie); her niece Geraldine (Sis); and her children, Barbara, Buddy and Teddy. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Hester made sure to lay the foundation for them.
