With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Susan Outen of Camden, South Carolina, who passed away on October 29, 2024. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Susan Outen to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Gillum Holley and Mary Frances Horton Holley; and the father of her children J. Van Outen, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Jay Outen, III (Beth) of Lugoff and Gil Outen (Angela) of Catawba, SC; her grandchildren, Van, Lily, Tiger, Jessica, Kyle and Paul; and her sisters, Gwen Bell (Frank) of Raleigh, NC and Julie Maxham (Joe) of Lugoff. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church (1206 Lyttleton St, Camden, SC 29020).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan's honor to the SC Nurses Foundation, PO Box 1768, Columbia, SC 29202.

“My sincere condolences on the loss of your dear mother Susan. She was such a joy to know and I always considered her a nurses nurse. She was fun, kind, and so hard working. She demonstrated such love for her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be missed!! I was fortunate to know her.
