It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larue Owens Merritt of Camden, South Carolina, who passed away on June 21, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Owens and Ethel Jones Owens; her former husband Douglas K. "Kemper" Horton; her husband Kenneth E. Merritt; her sisters, Mary Copeland and Jackie Pachnik; and her niece Pam Leviner Lair.
She is survived by: her son Jeffrey Owens Horton (Deborah); her grandsons, Geoffrey Seth Horton (Naomi) and Joshua Scott Horton; her sister Karlene Leviner; and her nephews, Cliff Leviner, Chris Pachnik and Zack Copeland.
