He is survived by: his wife Sandra Morrow Chavis (Sandy); his children, Joseph Raleigh Chavis Jr. (Amber) of Mobile, AL and Tracey Chavis Hunt (David) of Camden, SC; his grandsons, Austin Chavis (Kortney), Grayson Chavis of Mobile, AL and William Hunt of Camden, SC; his great grandchild Ansleigh Chavis; and his sister Carolyn Chavis Phillips of Cayce, SC..
