It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Downey of Camden, South Carolina, born in Waynesboro, Virginia, who passed away on April 12, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Downey (Jack) and Anna Belle Shumate Downey; his siblings, Jackie Johnson (Wayne), Linda McLeod (Cliff), Bobby Downey (Barbara) and Cindy Wirt (David); and his nieces and nephews, Tal Johnson (Laura) and Dana Downey Schmidt (Casey).
He is survived by: his wife Niki Bellavia Downey; his daughters, Danielle Vinson (Eric) of Camden and Amanda Faust (James) of Charleston; his granddaughters, Emma and Anna Vinson; and his nieces and nephews, Chuck Johnson (Mary), Melanie Medeiros (Gordy), Matthew Downey (Lauren), Marc Downey, Lee McLeod, Charlie McLeod, David Wirt and Rusty Wirt.
