He was predeceased by: his parents, James Oren and Grace Campbell Thompson; and also Trudy Griffin Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Jean McLain Fowler of Camden; his children, Debbie Morris Elmore (Kevin) of Columbia, Trudy Thompson Ranges (Scott) of Camden, Kathy Thompson Bishop (David) of Spartanburg and Cam Thompson (Pam) of Camden; his grandchildren, Jonathan Morris, Griffin Morris (Kala), Elizabeth Ranges, Nicholas Ranges, Olivia Hager (Eric) and Mac Smith; and his great grandchildren, Blaine Morris, J. Griffin Morris, Remington Foy Hager and Campbell Rae Hager.
