Lawson (Sonya) of Camden and Kimberly Lawson of Charlotte; his siblings, Carrie Garnett of Fort Washington, Luvenia Hall (Johnathan) of Springdale, Maryland, Julia Lawson of Raleigh-Durham, Lutenia Ragin of Summerton, Daniel E. Lawson (Lorraine) of Fayetteville, John Green (Janie) of Philadelphia and Arthur Felder of Summerton; his aunt Laura De Clue of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandchildren, Christina Marie, Kenneth Ryan and Tyler Ellison Lyles Lawson of Camden; and his friend Sammy B. James of Columbia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

“Ellison told me that when his friends saw him coming, they would all say, "Here come Rambo". Had to laugh, but the reality is that he really was a walkin'-talkin'-real life Rambo. Highly respected within' B co. 3/22 of the 25th. I know, because we were there together in the battle on Nov. 23rd '69 and again on April 4th '70 when we both laid in a bloody heap outside an NVA AO, Our company was also Oliver Stone's who would later base the movie "Platoon". We were Brothers. Missed greatly.”
