He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Jackson Smyrl, Sr. and Mary Ann Davis Smyrl; his former wife Bonne Ruth Litchfield Smyrl; his son Willie Alfred Smyrl, Jr.; and his siblings, Oscar J. "Jak" Smyrl, Jr., Lottie Smyrl Anderson and Lucy Smyrl Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne Edwards Smyrl; his children, Bonnie Louise Smyrl Watts (Regie) of Camden and John Patrick Smyrl; his grandchildren, Jackson Patrick Smyrl, Benjamin Smyrl Watts, Abigail Ruth Watts Ingalls (Joshua), Lee Gilliam and Lauren Gilliam; his stepchildren, Elizabeth Lamm Gilliam of Simpsonville, SC and John Anthony Lamm of Simpsonville; and his sister-in-law Betty Spires Smyrl of Camden.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Quaker Cemetery (713 Meeting St, Camden, SC 29020).
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020, or to the charity of one's choice.
