He was predeceased by: his spouse Johnnie Willie Walker; and his parents, Ben Gore and Dora Lee Wallace Gore. He is survived by: his children, Johnny Gore, Joseph Gore, Maurice Norman and Juanita Gore (Carl Smith); and his close friend Sarah Norman. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
