She was predeceased by: her parents, Canie Cummings Chassereau and Tinnie Smith Chassereau; her spouse Haskel D. Avant; her former husband Moye B. Smith, Sr.; and her siblings, Edna Hull, Daisy Breland, Hoyt Chassereau and Harold Chassereau.
She is survived by: her children, Glenda S. Crosby (Benny) and Moye B. Smith (Karen) of Brunson; her grandchildren, Mockey Terry Jr. (Stephanie) of Kaplan, Brian Smith (Christy) of Lexington, Laura Wangsness (Ryan) of Reidville, Brandon Smith (Hannah) of Hampton and Kyle Smith (Loribeth) of Hampton; her great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Philip Terry of Kaplan, Kendall, Ella Smith of Lexington, Benjamin Wangsness of Reidville, Lexi, Emma and Walt Smith of Hampton; and her siblings, Maudie Harvey (S. C.) of Hampton, Rufus Chassereau of Estill and Eugene Chassereau of Ohio.
