He was predeceased by: his parents, Shellie D. Summers and Elizabeth Fairey Summers; his wife Virginia K. Summers; and his siblings, Cleo Summers, Maudelle Dukes Miller and Christine Bickley.
He is survived by: his children, Brooks Summers (Mary) of Summerville, David Summers (Kay) of Branchville and Joye Gibson (Dale) of Laurinburg, NC; his grandchildren, Stewart Summers (Heather), Taylor Summers (Jennifer), Mary Helen Gesling (Brent), Heather Williams (Phillip), Brittany Gibson and Dalton Gibson; and his siblings, Eva Hall, Ruby Hefner, Darlene Buck, James Allen McAlhany, Sheckie Summers and Terry Summers. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
