With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rickey Lenair Smoak Sr. (Branchville, South Carolina), born in Barnwell, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 26, 2024 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Jefferson Smoak Sr. and Lou Mae Carroll Smoak; his stepmother Mary Smoak; his siblings, George Jefferson Smoak Jr., Horace Lee Smoak, Lula Bell Roome and Joann Smoak; and his sister-in-law Thelma Smoak (Chi-Chi).
He is survived by: his brothers, John (Scottie) and Howard Darwin Smoak Sr. (Diane); his sisters-in-law, Sue Smoak and Ann Smoak; his children, Angela Smoak Helms (Lawrence), Rickey Lenair Smoak, Jr. (Shawna), Rachel Smoak Mims and Jeffrey Daniel Smoak, Sr. (Alexis); and his grandchildren, Stacy Steiner, Jennifer Heath, Tripp, Cory, Sarah, Cierra (DJ), Lex (Hope), Seth, Joseph, Kolton, Kelsey, Alissia, Surina of Lily, JJ, Finley of Luca, SJ, Jerry, Lizayla and Xavier. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
