He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Mae Garrett and Harold Holt; and his children, Tim E. Holt and Joyce Paulette Holt. He is survived by: his children, Farron E. Holt of Bowman and Carrie Stevenson (Scott) of Orangeburg; his grandchildren, Rachel Haddock of Bowman, Rhonda Elliott (Travis) of Bowman, Paul Holt (Amy) of Bowman, Darlene Holt, Bryan Holt, Brandon Holt (Melissa), Casey Hutto, Lindsay Kuck (Steven) and Brad Holt (Stacy); his brother-in-law Steve Heflin (Cathy); and his pets, Itty Bit and Tinkerbell. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
