She was predeceased by : her spouse Jesse A. Gurganus, Jr. of Bowman; her parents, Connor DeWitt and Maggie Lou DeWitt; her children, Angela Gurganus and David Gurganus; and her siblings, Will Shuler, Herbert DeWitt, Minnie Platz, Margaret Whetsell, Jimmy DeWitt and Richard DeWitt.

She is survived by : her children, Connie Darden (Carlyse), Sallie Pope (Randy) and Jesse "Al" Gurganus, III (Lisa); her daughter-in-law Anna Price; her grandchildren, Jessica Canady (Adam), Drew Darden (Amanda), Josh Pope (Rachael), Chelsea Burbick (Brian), Ben Pope (Christy), David Gurganus (Kelly), Jake Gurganus (Morgan) and David Thieker (Sumitra); and her great grandchildren, Lily, Josh Canady, Allie Darden, Lincoln Pope, Kennedy, William Burbick, Caroline Pope, Bryce, Callie Gurganus and Surya Thieker.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home (607 N Parler Ave, St George, SC 29477). A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
