She was predeceased by: her spouse Jesse A. Gurganus, Jr. of Bowman; her parents, Connor DeWitt and Maggie Lou DeWitt; her children, Angela Gurganus and David Gurganus; and her siblings, Will Shuler, Herbert DeWitt, Minnie Platz, Margaret Whetsell, Jimmy DeWitt and Richard DeWitt.

She is survived by: her children, Connie Darden (Carlyse), Sallie Pope (Randy) and Jesse "Al" Gurganus, III (Lisa); her daughter-in-law Anna Price; her grandchildren, Jessica Canady (Adam), Drew Darden (Amanda), Josh Pope (Rachael), Chelsea Burbick (Brian), Ben Pope (Christy), David Gurganus (Kelly), Jake Gurganus (Morgan) and David Thieker (Sumitra); and her great grandchildren, Lily, Josh Canady, Allie Darden, Lincoln Pope, Kennedy, William Burbick, Caroline Pope, Bryce, Callie Gurganus and Surya Thieker.
