He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Potter and Margaret Anderson Potter Wood; his sons, David W. Potter and Kevin Lonnie Potter; his half-sister Gladys Ives; and his brothers, Robert Potter, Thomas W. Potter and Donald Potter.
He is survived by: his wife Priscilla Brinson Potter; his sons, Jamie Potter of Macedonia and Rodney Dale Potter of Macedonia; his sister Patsy Phillips of Macedonia; and his half-brother Walter "Beau" Potter of St. Stephen. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and was expecting a third great grandchild.
