He is survived by: his wife Joan Dale Mitchum Altman; his daughters, Windy Elizabeth Altman Smith (Scott) and Wanda Lynn Altman Barr (Eddie); his grandchildren, Breanna Marie Barr (Travis), Regean Elizabeth Barr (Colby), Lindsey LeAnn Barr (Ethan), Mackenzie Joan Smith and Chandler Altman Smith; his great grandchildren, Maxson Edward Bryan, Cain Henry Bryan, Lane Donald Moore and Ethan William Bryan; and his sisters, Gloria Bowers of Hampton and Joann Freeman of Mt. Pleasant.
