He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Thompson and Carrie Nance Thompson; his stepfather Cecil Miller; and his siblings, Sanford Thompson and Rachel Goodman.
He is survived by: his children, Katrina Cobb (Keith), Tommy Thompson (Tracy), Aaron Thompson (Wanda), Sebrina Thompson, Courtney Johnson (David) and Nikki Perez (Gene); and his brother Jim Thompson (Brenda). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
