He is survived by: his wife Mera Koon Kroening; his sons, Stephen Kendall Kroening (Rebecca) and Robert Gerard Kroening, Jr. (Jennifer); his stepchildren, Raymond Edward McDaniel (Ellen), James Heyward McDaniel (Melanie) and Inga Desiree Newton (Steve); and his siblings, Barbara Kemp (Steve), Mike Kroening, Tom Kroening (Mary), Jim Kroening, Mary Wells (Farrell) and Mark Kroening (Laura). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
