He was predeceased by: his parents, James Samuel Miller and Addie Williams Miller; his daughter B'Onica Miller; and his sisters, Vernese "Dimples" Miller Sims and Mary Miller Young.

He is survived by: his wife Lucy Heyward; his daughter Bianca Miller Benton (Joe); his grandchildren, Brianna and Jeremy Benton; and his brother Charles (Annette).
