He was predeceased by: his wife Julia Douglas Cox of Blythewood; his parents, Sylvester Cox and Rhoda Sanders Cox; and his siblings, Sylvester Cox Jr. and Shirley Riley Cox.
He is survived by: his children, Nathan, Gregory and Timika of Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Nathan, Laneisha, Melody and Elliott; and his siblings, Richard of Ocala, FL and Sarah of Hinesville, GA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
