He was predeceased by: his son Colton Sands McDonald. He is survived by: his wife Simone Griffeth McDonald; his children, Suzanna Rose McDonald, Savannah Dawn Foster and Joseph Ridge McDonald (Holly); his grandson John Cassian West McDonald; his close friend John Dial; and his pet Chow.
