He is survived by: his children, Judith A. Perez, Rich Schmidt and Michael Schmidt; and his wife Isadora Torres (Dora).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Vincent De Paul Society (31 St. Gregory Dr., Bluffton, SC 29909).
