He is survived by: his wife Pamela Billings Carpenter; his children, Ann Handy (Dan), Craig Carpenter (Jill), Susan Alexander and Mark Carpenter (Heidi); his stepchildren, Collier Maxwell and Heather Chandler (Rafael); and his grandchildren, Amy, Erin, Ryan, Chrysthanos, Olivia, Leah and Jack.
