He is survived by: his parent Margie Marie Wilson Bowers; his daughters, Shelley Pifer (Donald) of Chapin and Pinny Bowers of Bluffton; his siblings, Betsy Bowers Ruff of Pomaria, Monte Bowers (Peggy) of Pomaria and David Bowers (Deena) of Irmo; his grandchildren, Sal Liberatore, Jake Liberatore, Mary Elizabeth Pifer, Sam Liberatore and Drew Pifer; and his friend Hank Bufkin.
