We are sad to announce that on January 16, 2022, at the age of 87, Ila Marie Bates of Bluffton, South Carolina, born in Indianapolis, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hesper Elaine Rhodes Roberts and Taylor Roberts; and her husband Malcolm Edward Bates. She is survived by: her son Samuel Crabtree (Donna); her grandsons, Benjamin Jordan Crabtree and Christopher Charles Crabtree; her great grandchildren, Charlie and Tucker Crabtree; and her sister Norma Gillette (Bill). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
