He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel May Buckman; his parents, William George Buckman and Frances Anna Vacek Buckman; his stepson Robert E. Zachry; and his siblings, William "Willie" Buckman, Jr., Effie Faucette and Joyce Whelland.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Goldstein (George Morera Jorge) of Bluffton, Martha Denise Bressler of Maryland, Tracie Y. Dabkowski (Glenn) of Maryland and William Eldridge Buckman (Janet) of West Virginia; his stepson Ralph C. Zachry of Maryland; and his siblings, Richard Buckman of Maryland, Edward Buckman of Maryland, Mary Centineo of Maryland, Nancy Davis of Maryland, Florence Gardner of Georgia and Frances Miller of California. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
