He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Gurney and Edith Gurney; and his stepson Christopher Devaney. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his brother David Gurney (Ann); his stepsisters, Margaret Goddard and Kate Alston; his children, Jonathan Gurney (Tina) and Lynn Griffiths (Neil); his stepsons, Michael Devaney (Dee Anna) and Neil Devaney; and his grandchildren, Brian, Shane, Beth and Juliette.
