Bonnie McCullough Perine Obituary
Bonnie McCullough Perine of Sun City Hilton Head, Bluffton, SC went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 22, 2024. She passed away at home following a long illness, surrounded by her immediate family.
Bonnie was born in Pensacola, FL on November 19, 1942, to Edward Paul McCullough and Bonnie Wright McCullough. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1960 and later from Pensacola Junior College. She worked at the Florida National Bank until 1966 when she was whisked away by a fledgling Naval Aviator (revisit “Officer and a Gentleman”) named Phil Perine.
Phil and Bonnie were married for 57+ years, during which time they frequently moved with their two daughters, Jennifer (Ginger) Perine Taylor and Robin Gillis Perine to wherever the U.S. Navy took them. This necessitated living in Brunswick, ME, Norfolk, VA, Corpus Christi, TX, Honolulu, HI, Jacksonville, FL and 3 times in the Washington, DC area, and after retirement, in Annapolis, MD, Las Vegas, NV and finally in Sun City. Bonnie worked as a customer service representative for Piedmont Airlines and US Airways before retiring in 1997. She loved to travel and did so frequently with Phil to places in Europe, Asia, Australia/NZ, the Caribbean, South America, and some Pacific Island destinations.
In addition to Phil, Ginger, and Robin, Bonnie is survived by beloved son-in-law Scott Taylor and Grandsons Webster and Chandler Taylor, for whom her love knew no bounds. She also leaves numerous cousins and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward (Mickey) McCullough, and sister Joan Frances McCullough.
A Christian memorial service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, April 2 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC with interment to follow at 2 pm at Beaufort National Cemetery. A reception will then follow at 60 Falmouth Court, Bluffton, SC (Sun City Hilton Head).
