She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon James Hammond and Eunice Ray Hammond; her son Andy Carter; and her grandson Bryan Walker. She is survived by: her children, George Carter, Bertha Carter, John Carter (Debra), Charles Carter (Theresa), Helen Carter and Martina Carter. She is also survived by seventeen grand children; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
