He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob E. Kanagy and Salina Peachey Kanagy; his spouse Esther N. Yoder Kanagy; and his siblings, Mattie Yoder, Naomi Peachey, Amelia Kanagy, Joseph, Kore, David, Jacob, Jonas, Lee, Norman, Ezra, Urie and Alvin Kanagy.
He is survived by: his children, Virgil Kanagy (Fannie Mae) of Blackville, SC, Martha Schwartz (Peter) of Sarasota, FL, Elsie Beachy (Alvin) of Plain City, OH, Joseph Daniel Kanagy (Freda) of Woodbury, TN and David Ray Kanagy (Mary) of Williston, SC; and his sister-in-law Mattie Kanagy of Hartville, OH. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren.
