He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Earl Matthews, Sr. and Lois Gibson Matthews. He is survived by: his children, Gregg Sanders of Bamberg, Grace Eubanks (Neele) of Barnwell and Michael Hightower (Jennifer) of Simpsonville; his grandchildren, Nicole Hills (Chad), Christopher Sanders (Jaimi), Megan Sweatman (Chris) and Jonathan Eubanks; his great grandchildren, Shay, Carsen, Maddie, Noah and Ezara; his sister Ann Allen of Hendersonville, NC; and his nieces, Beth Youngblood (Paul), Katie Henderson and Josie Sidhu. He is also survived by 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
