He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Childers and Peggy Arthurs Yarbrough; and his siblings, Rodney Childers, Marion "Tricky" Black and Donnie Arthurs.
He is survived by: his wife Della Fortenberry Childers; his daughters, LaShea Brakefield (Dusty), Nikki Childers ODell (Jason), Brittany Childers (James Wilson) and Adrian Childers; his siblings, Bruce Childers, Steve Childers, Wyman Childers, Bill Childers, Chris Childers and Wynona Phillips; his grandchildren, Claire, Gabby and Thomas; and his daughter Summer Bassett.
