It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Gene Butler of Blacksburg, South Carolina, who passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Ray and Leona Moss Butler; his daughter Denise Ann Butler; and his siblings, Kenneth Butler and Louise Sparks.
He is survived by: his significant other Louise Butler (Merz); his children, Raymond Butler (Denise) of Fleming Island, FL, Donna Butler of Blacksburg, SC and Richard Butler (Lisa) of Blacksburg, SC; his grandchildren, Andrea Arterbury of Raleigh, NC, Ricky Butler (Courtney) of Columbus, OH, Michael Butler of Cowpens, SC, Jennifer Cobb (Adam) of Elizabethtown, KY and Brittany Martin (Chase) of Blacksburg, SC; his great grandchildren, Owen and Emma Cobb of Elizabethtown, KY; and his sister JoAnne Butler of Gaffney, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
