He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Kathleen Smith Brown and Elmer P. Brown; and his brother Luther Brown. He is survived by: his wife Debra Dills Brown; his children, Christopher Brown of Dallas, Rebecca Brown Cope of Huntersville and Melody Brown Mitchell (Steve) of Dallas; his siblings, Jimmy Branham (Linda), Gloria Fortner and Elizabeth Whitworth (Johnny); his grandchildren, Brooklynn Ramsey (Arlo) of Gastonia, Jady Kathleen Harris (A. J.) of Stanley, Steven Mitchell Jr. (Emily) of Dallas, Dawson Mitchell (Jada) of Dallas, Chloe Mitchell (Cameron) of Huntersville and Sophia Cope of Huntersville; and his great grandchild Wyatt Mitchell.
