She was predeceased by: her husband James P. Henson; her parents, Forrest Johnson and Viola Munn Johnson; her stepson Jerry Henson; her stepdaughter-in-law Lee Henson; and her siblings, J. C. Johnson, Ernest Johnson, Olin Johnson, Goldie Brown and Pauline Martin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debora Bailey of Blacksburg and Patricia Flynn (John) of Blacksburg; her stepchildren, James Stanley Henson (Donna) of Anderson, Marie Wofford (Jerry) of Townsville, SC and Sandra Grayson of Vale, NC; and her grandchildren, Lisa Boone, DeAnna Fulton, Steven Shytle (Wendy), James Henson (Amber), Kim Ivey (Eddie), Jason Flynn (Paula), Phillip Flynn and Rodney Bridges (Melissa). She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren.
