It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Imogene Mitchell of Blacksburg, South Carolina, who passed away on April 22, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John Crockett Mitchell, Jr.; her parents, John Alex Van Dyke and Lona Addair Van Dyke; her siblings, Jay Van Dyke, Donald G. Van Dyke, Shirley Day and Janice Van Dyke; and her grandchildren, Heather Mitchell, Bean Hicks and Tristin Hicks.
She is survived by: her children, John Crockett Mitchell III (Heather), Michael J. Mitchell (Barbara), Steven Mitchell (Melody), Teresa Maney (Robert), Patty Hutchinson (Ronnie) and Diane Hicks (Jacob); and her siblings, Fred C. Van Dyke, Brenda Rutherford, Kathy Stress, Pamela Wingo and Linda Capeli. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
