He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Turner and Lillie Turner; and his brother Tommy Lee Auten. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Moose Auten; his children, Larry Michael Auten, Ricky Lee Auten (Teresa) of Blacksburg and Beda Jo Lisk (Eric) of Kannapolis, NC; his granddaughter Amanda Humes (Joseph) of Greenville, SC; his great grandchildren, Ana and Reuben Humes of Greenville, SC; his stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Nicholson, Matthew Bumgardner, Brandon Furr and Carley Lisk; and his aunt Mary Alice Rogers of Concord, NC..
