He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Evans and Minnie Christine Church Evans; his son Randy Evans; his great grandchild Julia Christian McCurry; and his siblings, James Evans and Ruth Robinson.
He is survived by: his wife Helen White Evans; his daughter Judy McCurry (Jackie) of Blacksburg; his grandchildren, Reverend Michael McCurry (Susan) and Jaclyn Wright (Michael); his great grandchildren, Evan McCurry (Caitlin), Ally McCurry, Cody Wright, Alex McCurry, Eli McCurry, Harlie Wright and Kynzlie Wright; and his brother Reverend Lewis Evans of Pauline, SC.
