He was predeceased by: his parents, John Atchley and Effie Atchley (Carolyn Costner Atchley); and his siblings, Sam, Buddy Atchley, Ethel Atchley, Ruby Givens, Mary Causby, Hazel Atchley and Betty Colesworthy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jenny Crotts (Alan) of Gastonia, NC, Barbara Crumpton (Don) of Richmond, VA and Nikki Harkey (David) of Belmont, NC; his grandchildren, Brandon Crumpton, Christopher Harkey, Joshuah Crotts, Shaila Crumpton, Hannah Thompson, Sierra Hough and Taylor Harkey; his great grandchildren, Maddison Crumpton, Emma Thompson, Lilliana Harkey, Grayson Thompson and Nolan Harkey; and his sisters, Lucy Kiser and Annie Johnson (Joe).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the White Columns Funeral Service (102 N Rutherford St, Blacksburg, SC 29702). A burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Garland Cemetery Garland Cemetery.
