He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Panther and Annie Hudson Panther; his siblings, Lawrence (Ophelia), H. K. (Evelina), Willard, Clifford (Louise), Marvin (Becky) and Fannie Jane Hawkins (J. G.); and his siblings-in-law, Don L. Wilkins and Barbara Griffin Bridges.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Bridges Panther; his sons, Todd and Jason Panther of Blacksburg; his sister Priscilla Kendrick (Buster) of Shelby, NC; and his siblings-in-law, John Bridges of Owensboro, KY and Jane Bridges Wilkins of Blacksburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
