It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Smylie Grantham Jr. (Bishopville, South Carolina), born in Darlington, South Carolina, who passed away on January 2, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Smylie Grantham, Sr. and Grace Atkinson Joyner; his son Ashley Grantham; and his brothers, William "Billy" Grantham and Virgil "Fireball" Joyner.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Davis Grantham of Bishopville, SC; his children, Smylie Joe Grantham (Donna) of Lugoff, SC, Melinda McCae (Michael) of Bethune, SC and Crystal Steen of Darlington, SC; his siblings, Susan King of Bishopville, SC, Virgie Locklear (Rusty) of Camden, SC, Cynthia Small of Camden, SC, Ron Joyner (Diane) of Dothan, AL and Mitchell Joyner (Teresa) of Bishopville, SC; and his stepsons, Robbie Jackson, Joey Jackson, Andy Jackson and David Atkinson. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
