He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph W. McLendon, Jr. and Isabel Lee Ham McLendon; his former wife Sara Davis McLendon; and his brother Michael Ryan McLendon. He is survived by: his wife Debra Hovatter McLendon; his son Ralph W. "Wally" McLendon, IV of Asheville, NC; his sister Sherian McLendon of Bishopville; his grandchildren, Thomas Davis McLendon of Wilmington, NC and Sara Lydon "Lila" McLendon of Asheville, NC; his daughter-in-law Carol Ann Lydon; and his stepsons, Donald L. Bowen and Daniel B. Bowen of Sumter.
