He was predeceased by: his parents, Walt Mims and Grace Blackwell Mims Major; his father-in-law Joel Arrants; his siblings-in-law, Pat Mims and Terry Arrants; and his friend Lawson "Cutie" Belk.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Arrants Mims; his children, Cindy Blanchard (Gerald), Mike Mims, Jr. (Angie), Matt Mims (Jamie) and Crystal Coetzee (Kan); his grandchildren, Autum Blanchard, Savannah Blanchard, Gage Mims, Zane Mims, Cayden Mims, Blake Elmore, Bryce Elmore and Brady Elmore; and his brothers, John Mims (Pat) and Don Mims (Ronnie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and their spouses.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Concord Community Bible Church, 354 Old Camden Road, Bishopville, SC 29010.
