Merritt of Darlington, SC; his siblings, Mitchell McElveen (Lynn) of Florence, SC, Joe McElveen (Sarah) of Bishopville, SC, Shelly Strickland (Mark) of Scranton, SC, Mellissa Mims (Ronald) of Effingham, SC and Teresa Cook (Bill) of Darlington, SC; his stepson Mitchell Davis (Gaye) of Darlington, SC; and his grandchildren, John Mitchell Davis (Kristin) of Florence, SC, Christopher Davis (Taylor) of Darlington, SC and Meghan Murray (Christopher) of Darlington, SC. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
